Wilted leaves when in sun

I transferred my new plant to the bucket on Feb 6, 2009. It was about 9" tall, so I clipped the bottom 2 branches off and sunk about 5" of the bottom of the stem, along with about 3" of root ball into the soil. I heard that this will help create a stronger root system. The plant seems to be doing fine, except when it spends time in direct sunlight. Then, the leaves wilt and droop over the side of the bucket. Then when the sun goes down the leaves and the stems are re-invigorvated. This is all indoors. Is this a problem? I have 3 other young plants ready to be put in their permanent homes, but would like to wait a bit to see if anyone knows why the first one is acting this way. Thanks.
